COME FROM.
A short drive from Cambridge, and a sensible one from most of the eastern Home Counties.
The Vehicle Archive is a few minutes outside Cambridge. Most of the vehicles stored with us come from within about 25 miles — but a good number travel considerably further, because the point of the Archive is that a vehicle can be left somewhere properly rather than somewhere convenient.
The exact address is confirmed as part of your storage enquiry rather than published. That is deliberate: an unadvertised building with no passing trade does more for security than any amount of signage.
Cambridge and the villages
Most customers are within twenty minutes. Storage here solves the problem a lot of Cambridge houses have — a beautiful street, a permit bay, and nowhere sensible to keep a second or third vehicle.
- Cambridge, Great Shelford, Sawston, Trumpington, Milton, Histon, Waterbeach, Cottenham, Bar Hill, Duxford, Linton and the surrounding villages
North — Ely and the Fens
Straight down the A10. Fenland barns and outbuildings are plentiful and almost always damp, which is why a lot of northern customers move a vehicle indoors for the winter and never move it back out.
- Ely, Chatteris, Ramsey, March, Littleport, Soham
East — Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and the Suffolk edge
Ten minutes to Newmarket, and easy from the A14. We store a lot of vehicles for owners out this way, including the sort that only come out for a handful of weekends a year.
- Burwell, Newmarket, Soham, Fordham, Haverhill, Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds
South — Saffron Walden, Royston and the Essex border
The M11 corridor. From Bishop's Stortford or Stansted the Archive is closer than most London storage, and considerably quieter.

Further afield
Distance matters less than you would think, because you are not visiting weekly. We regularly store vehicles for owners in London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire — and where the journey is the awkward part, protected collection and return can be arranged.

No. Most customers are within about 25 miles, but plenty are not.
Because access is arranged rather than casual, being an hour or two away matters far less than it would at a self-service facility — and collection can be arranged where the journey is the awkward part.
Can you collect from my town?
Usually, yes. Collection and return is quoted individually depending on the vehicle, the distance, whether it runs and access at both ends.
