The Vehicle Archive is secure indoor vehicle storage less than an hour from London, in Cambridgeshire — genuinely out of the city, without putting the vehicle so far away that collecting it becomes a weekend.

The distance question

Storage a few streets away is expensive and rarely secure. Storage four hours away is cheap and effectively a goodbye. Cambridgeshire sits in the useful middle: a straightforward run up the M11 or A1, easy from north and east London, and equally sensible from Hertfordshire and Essex.

You don’t have to drive it up

Protected collection and return can be arranged for suitable vehicles, so the car moves directly between your home and the Archive. That matters for vehicles off the road, on SORN, newly bought, or simply not something you want to take through city traffic.

Why managed access helps here

You are not local, so unrestricted 24-hour entry is worth very little to you — you are not dropping in on the way home. What is worth something is knowing the building is controlled, few people pass through it, and the vehicle is ready when you ask.

Access is arranged through your client portal, where you can also see the vehicle record, inspection photographs, condition updates and billing — rather more useful at sixty miles than a key fob.
