The Vehicle Archive  /  Storage

HOW STORAGE
WORKS.

A deliberately small collection, kept indoors, with access arranged rather than opened to anyone with a code.

A curated collection, not a crowded car park

Most storage is sold by the square foot, and the incentive is obvious: fit in as many vehicles as the building will physically hold. We do the opposite. The Archive keeps the number of vehicles deliberately low, which is what allows us to know what is stored, keep the environment controlled and give each vehicle actual attention.

It is the difference between putting a vehicle into safekeeping and renting a parking space.

Secure indoor storage

Vehicles are kept inside a monitored, private building — dry, enclosed and out of sight. Not a container, not a barn, not a corner of a yard under a cover.

Managed access

You can have your vehicle whenever you need it. Visits are arranged in advance through your client portal rather than through unrestricted 24-hour entry.

That single decision is what produces everything else: fewer people coming through the facility, closer control over who is in the building, and a quieter environment for the vehicles stored inside.

Who it suits

  • Second and third cars with nowhere sensible to live
  • Classic and cherished vehicles kept for occasional use
  • Prestige and sports cars stored over winter
  • Project cars waiting on time, parts or a decision
  • Inherited vehicles and vehicles held during probate
  • Vehicles temporarily without suitable home storage
  • Motorcycles, classic vans and specialist vehicles

If you ride or drive most weekends year-round, a self-service facility will suit you better. If you want to know the vehicle is somewhere secure until you next genuinely need it, you are in the right place.

Vehicle checks

Vehicles are photographed and checked in when they arrive, and the record goes onto your portal. Any ongoing handling — moving, starting, charging — is agreed with you first and noted against the account.

Your client portal

Every storage customer gets a private portal holding the vehicle record, inspection photographs and condition updates, billing, stored documents, and the ability to request access. Storage should be quiet and uneventful; that does not mean losing sight of your vehicle.

Insurance

Insurance requirements are confirmed before storage begins. You should maintain suitable cover and advise your insurer where the vehicle will be stored. We will set out exactly what is required as part of your storage agreement.

Getting it here

You are welcome to bring the vehicle in yourself by arrangement. If you would rather not, protected collection and return can be arranged and is quoted individually.

Collection / delivery

Quoted individually.

Tell us where the vehicle is and we’ll provide a straightforward transport quote. Protected, covered transport is available for suitable vehicles.

Indicative monthly prices. The final figure is confirmed on enquiry and depends on the vehicle, the space it needs and how long it stays.

Private doesn’t have to mean expensive.

We deliberately operate a smaller, managed collection rather than filling every available square metre. That doesn’t mean storage needs to cost a fortune — the aim is secure, carefully managed indoor storage at a sensible monthly cost.

You are paying for space, security and care.

Not for 24-hour turnstiles, a members’ lounge or constant valet movements. Keeping the model quiet is what keeps it both properly managed and sensibly priced.

Questions

Before you enquire
Can I access my vehicle whenever I want?

Access is available by arrangement rather than through unrestricted self-service entry. Requests are made through your client portal and we confirm a time that works.

It is the one decision that makes the rest possible: fewer people through the building means better security, more privacy and a quieter environment for every vehicle inside.

Is this suitable if I use my car every weekend?

Probably not, and we would rather say so now. The Archive is designed for vehicles kept for longer periods or used occasionally.

If you need spontaneous access several times a month, a conventional self-service facility will serve you better.

How much notice do you need?

We ask for reasonable advance notice wherever possible. Exact access arrangements are confirmed as part of your storage agreement, so you know where you stand before anything is signed.

How long can I store a vehicle?

The Archive is set up for medium and longer stays rather than daily parking. Vehicles commonly stay for a winter, a season, or while a house move, a restoration or an estate is resolved.

Periods are agreed individually rather than fixed to a rigid minimum term.

Is my vehicle insured?

Vehicle insurance requirements are confirmed before storage begins. You should maintain suitable insurance and tell your insurer where the vehicle will be stored.

We set out exactly what is required as part of your storage agreement.

How much does storage cost?

Vehicle storage starts from £165 a month for standard cars and similar vehicles, and from around £70 a month for motorcycles.

Larger and specialist vehicles — vans, big classics, lorries, buses, production vehicles — are priced on the footprint they actually need rather than by a blanket rate. Send us the dimensions and we will give you a straightforward figure.

The final cost is confirmed on enquiry and depends on the vehicle, the space it takes and how long it stays.

Is it more expensive because it is private?

No. Operating a smaller, managed collection is about how the place is run, not about charging a premium for exclusivity.

You are paying for space, security and care — not for 24-hour turnstiles, a members' lounge or unnecessary extras. The Archive is not reserved for six-figure cars; a Ferrari might sit next to an old Land Rover, and both are there for the same reason.

Will the vehicle be started or moved?

Any handling arrangements are agreed before storage begins and recorded against your vehicle account.

Nothing happens to your vehicle that you have not agreed to — and if you would rather it simply sat untouched, that is a perfectly good answer.
